Biology's Live Plant Collections consists of over one thousand species of plants grown inside a state of the art greenhouse facility.  Over the course of decades, Duke botanists have donated thier research plants to the Biology Department Greenhouses to ensure that rare and endangered species are preserved.   Currently, we have four greenhouses devoted to the live plant collections with emphasis on tropical, xeric, and temperate habitates.
